Zee Bangla was launched on September 15, 1999 as Alpha Bangla, the first Bangla satellite channel. Since beginning, this channel aimed to uphold Bengal's culture to the world.
Zee Bangla became everybody's favourite within a very short time. Each Zee Bangla programme is crafted to suit the varied taste of its wide audience.
It has been a pioneer in launching Bengali reality shows such as Dance Bangla Dance, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Mirakkel, giving birth to many stars. Didi No. 1 and Dadagiri Unlimited have upped the entertainment quotient with exciting gratifications. The latter hadSourav Ganguly as the anchor for the first time ever on Indian television. Megastar Prasenjit Chatterjee also became an anchor for the first time on TV with Banglar Sera Paribar.
Daily soaps such as Rashi, Keya Patar Nouko, Saat Pake Badha, Khela, Khona, Agnipariksha and Subarnalata have reflected Bengali ethos in a never-before manner.
Zee Bengla also celebrates various festive occasions with innovative properties such as Zee Bangla Maha Pujo, Barsho Baron andZee Bangla Carnival.
By introducing new formats and innovative concepts, Zee Bangla has kept up its standards and has now become integrated with the Bengali lifestyle. Bengalis now truly and firmly believe that Jibon Mane Zee Bangla.
